PERINTHALMANNA RICH IN Cultural Heritage
Perinthalmanna has a very vast historical significance. After Malabar Treaty, this is where the English East India Company established their first court, first high school, first Taluk office. History says this was the capital of the Princely state Valluvanad, ruled by the Valluvakonathiris of ancient Pallava Dynasty. Perinthalmanna’s name is derived from “Perumthallu” the local lingua for rigorous fight and “Mannu” means land got modified to Perinthalmanna under British influence. Perinthalmanna is now better known as the “Hospital Town of Kerala”. There are four multi super specialty hospitals, including a prominent medical college, magnetize ailing people from various corners of India and abroad.
